JustServe.org Project Success Story, Bancroft, Michigan. posted 18 Mar 2018

Located in rural Mid-Michigan, Welcome Home Veterans (WHV) is creating a shelter and resource center for homeless veterans. The owner of the American Inn & Suites in DeWitt, MI, donated 27 rooms of furniture ranging from microwaves, mini refrigerators, lamps, beds, dressers, couches and more. On March 17, 2018 nearly 50 local volunteers came together from Owosso Public Schools (JustServe), Penske Truck Rental, Shiawassee County Jail, Team RWB, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (JustServe), Two Men and a Truck, and a variety of WHV board members and loyal supporters. Coffee, donuts, water, and pizza were donated by local merchants. The former Wilber Bills Elementary School in Bancroft, MI was purchased by WHV in 2017 for the purpose of creating a homeless veterans shelter and resource center by 2019-2020. The volunteers made it possible to move the extensive donation of furniture and appliances – a huge blessing as the construction plans move forward. WHV thanks everyone for their service on behalf of this great cause for our honored veterans.
